Day 1
Day 1: Recently on Facebook and Instagram I've had a few people I know participate in this online photo project called "100 Happy Days". Essentially it seems the goal is to find one thing every single day that makes you happy, snap a photo of it, and post it somewhere with the hashtag #100happydays. Googling this, I've discovered the website, http://100happydays.com/, and it seems to be no more complicated than exactly that: find one thing every single day that makes you happy. It can be substantial, or quiet, meaningful to many or only to you.
Lately I've found it challenging to find my happy. I think a little work might be in order to try and rediscover it. I'll start with the following photo. It's of a little pinwheel some kind soul has placed in my front garden. Due to the damage from the winter on my house and the promise of my insurance company to rebuild my porch, I removed all my front perennials to try and save them from the impending construction. That was months ago, and my front "garden" was looking quite grim and overgrown. Last night I tasked myself with cleaning it up and straightening it out, and discovered this little pinwheel that was most definitely not there in the spring when I ripped everything out.
To whomever saw fit to add this little beauty to my front garden, I thank you. It gave me a much needed smile. #100happydays
