Day 80

Day 80: The saying goes, "You can't make old friends." Tonight I worked at a Parents Night at a local high school promoting post-secondary pathways. One parent was asking me if I happened to know anything about the university system, specifically about Ottawa U. Thanks to this fine bunch, I was able to say that I'd spent some very happy time there during my undergrad. The conversation reminded me of this photo, which in turn reminded me of so many happy memories spent with these and many other Friends. Baz Luhrmann said in his famous spoken-word piece "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)" that the older you get, the more you will need people who knew you when you were young. Though distance and time have for the most part separated us, a common past keeps us connected. Tonight my happy is for having an incredible group of "old Friends" that I don't get to see nearly as often as I would like to. And for those Friends up north experiencing a loss this week, know my thoughts are with you. #100happydays #ThrowbackThursday
