Day 87

Day 87: For yesterday. I didn't forget to post, but I wasn't quite able to. By the end of the day I couldn't see. My happy for yesterday is the Canadian healthcare system. On Thursday evening I noticed I was having a bit of trouble with my left eye. It seemed irritated, not itchy, but as though it had something in it. I left it figuring that it would sort itself out (as it always does), but the pain only intensified through the night. Taking the day off yesterday wasn't an option as I had one of my biggest work events of the year on site, and then was hosting a large group for an individual session, so I had to tough it out. I lasted until 2pm when the pain became so intense my friend and colleague took me to the hospital. How wonderful it is that I could go there and know I could be helped without needing to worry about costs and bills I couldn't afford. I was seen by a specialist and prescribed medication and am on the road to healing. Certainly I'm not happy about my eye acting up, but I am thrilled to live in a country that will help me deal with it. #100happydays
