Day 144

Day 144: For yesterday. It was such a busy, lovely day yesterday that I didn't get a chance to post. Yesterday I was spontaneously treated to a big band Christmas concert in town. I got a call from a very good Friend asking if I wanted to go, it was in 45 mins, and it could be my Christmas present. Although I hesitated for a moment because it felt a bit rushed I thought, yes. Why not? I LOVE big band music. Sometimes I feel I was born in the wrong era. I could listen to the likes of Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington etc for days and not grow tired of it. The concert was incredible. They played Little Brown Jug, a Christmas version of Chattanooga Choo Choo, In The Mood, and so many Christmas favourites. Here they did the "Sisters" number from White Christmas, and the singers even had the blue feathers. It was so insanely good. I confess I teared up and nearly lost it when they did "What Are You Doing New Years Eve?" as it made me think of Grammy P, and I started to miss her so much that it almost physically hurt. She loved the holidays, and I loved spending time with her during them. Through the whole show I kept thinking how she would have loved it. The joy of those memories far outweighs the sorrow though, and the concert was incredible. It made me so happy. #365happydays
